Ruggiero Gina A. Age 87, of Roseto, PA, passed away peacefully with family at her side June 8, 2022, in Penn Med at Rittenhouse, Philadelphia. She was born July 25,1934, in Philadelphia, PA. She was a loving wife of 59 years to Lawrence A. Ruggiero who predeceased her. Her parents were proud Italian immigrants, the late Flaviano Tatta and Cesira (DiGiuseppe) Tatta. As a 1952 graduate of Philadelphia High School for Girls, she joined the ranks of strong professional women leaders ahead of their time. She graduated from Temple University, formerly Temple Community College, and, while raising 5 children, graduated Cum Laude from East Stroudsburg University with a Master's in Education. She taught for 30 years in the Bangor Area School District where she proudly touched the future. She was active professionally and as a community member, including Business & Professional Women's Organization of Bangor (former President), PASR, PSEA, Helping Hands of Roseto, among others. In addition, Gina was co-owner of the family's former Ruggiero Service Station in Roseto for 22 years. Gina served on the Board of Trustees at A Shore View Condominium Association in North Wildwood, NJ as both President and Treasurer. She was a 38-year association member. Most of these accomplishments were achieved while raising the greatest loves of her life, her 5 children. She made everyone she met feel like family. Gina's presence is greatly missed by her adoring family, friends, including many who refer to her as their "adopted" Mom. Her most favorite times were spent with the family at holiday dinners that she lovingly prepared, birthdays, and summers down the shore at her family house in North Wildwood, NJ. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Roseto, PA. Gina is survived by her 5 children and their spouses, Mary Louise Salzarulo (Lester), Dr. Laurie Ruggiero, Angela Ruggiero (life partner-Wendy Boorstein), Cesira Ruggiero (the late John Miller), Michael F. Ruggiero (Leila), and two grandsons Michael L. Salzarulo and Romeo L. Ruggiero and 4 furry grandbabies. She was preceded in death by her brother Anthony Tatta and sister Maria Giuseppe (Tatta) Carrozza. The Viewing will be held at the FIORE FUNERAL HOME, 230 Market St., Bangor, PA 18013 on Sunday, June 12th 6-8PM, followed by a Funeral Mass on Monday, June 13th 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Garibaldi and Third Avenues, Roseto, PA 18013.
