GIACOMO CASTELLI, Ridgewood, New Jersey
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the family of Giacomo Castelli announces his passing on July 23, 2023 at the age of 76 years old.
Giacomo was survived by his devoted wife Maria (Di Nicola), loving son Angelo and his wife Roneet (Adika) and his daughter Anna Maria and her husband Marc Ramundo. Giacomo is also survived by three beautiful grandchildren Olivia, Reagan and Walker.
Giacomo was born in Italy and immigrated to the United States from Palermo, Sicily in 1968. Through hard work and sheer determination he embarked on a transformative journey that would forever alter the course of his life.
He met his lovely wife Maria in Jersey City, New Jersey. They raised a family in Palisades Park where he was a valued member of the community and loved by all. Giacomo spent the remainder of his retirement in Ridgewood, New Jersey to be close to his family.
Giacomo embraced the opportunities that America presented and was a devoted worker for General Motors for over 36 years. During his retirement he volunteered at the Municipal Court of Palisades Park.
He still remained deeply connected to his roots and heritage by enjoying Italian music, growing vegetables in his garden and being an avid Serie A soccer and formula 1 fan.
What Giacomo enjoyed most was his family that he was extremely proud of and worked so hard to provide for and support as they pursued their ambitions.
He will be fondly remembered by his smile, laughter, and always having a story to tell.
A visitation will be held at Fenney Funeral Home located at 232 Franklin Avenue, Ridgewood, New Jersey on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 4-9 p.m. Funeral mass will take place on Friday July 28, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Saint Gabriel the archangel Roman Catholic Church, located at 88 E Saddle River Road, in Saddle River, New Jersey with entombment to follow at Maryrest Cemetery and Mausoleum, located at 770 Darlington Avenue, Mahwah, New Jersey.
