Gertrude Kohnke, nee Lenz, age 85, resident of Lombard for the last 6 years; formerly of Villa Park for 58 years; active member Apple Computer Club, Garden Club, an amateur photographer in Photography Club, frequent Art Institute visitor with a special admiration for the Monet collection, great cook known for her German Spaetzle, accomplished bookeeper and co-owner of Kohnke Fundraising, a local business founded by Gertrude and her husband; beloved wife of George J. Kohnke; loving mother of Katharine (Gary) Prince and John (Catherine Hopkins) Kohnke; grandmother of 6 and great-grandmother of 2; dear sister preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Visitation Tuesday, July 12, 2022, 3:00 p.m. until time of service 7:00 p.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road (½ mile North of Saint Charles Road), Elmhurst. Interment Private.
