Gertrude A. (Toomey) Talbot - in Florida, formerly of Woburn and Somerville, died peacefully, February 14th at the age of one hundred and one. Born in Charlestown, MA, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Gertrude (Mills) Toomey. She lived in Woburn, MA where she raised her family, until relocating to Florida in 2003. She was a die-hard Boston sports fan, especially of the Red Sox and at the age of 100, became a lifetime member of Red Sox Nation. She enjoyed playing Bingo, word-find books and enjoying a competitive card game or Left Right Center with her family. She also enjoyed crocheting and made many, many afghan's for family and friends. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed. Beloved wife of the late Leo K. Talbot. Devoted mother of Barbara Donovan, her late husband James of FL, Edward Talbot, his wife Anne of FL, William Talbot, his late wife Carole of FL, Paul Talbot, his wife Beverly of Fl and the late Robert Talbot, his wife Elizabeth. Cherished grandmother of 17 grandchildren and 31 great-children. Dear sister of the late Robert Toomey. A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Saturday, February 22 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn at 10. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
