Fears, George William, Sr., 84, of Fort McCoy, Ocala passed away peacefully on August 3, 2021. George was born in Huntsville, Alabama and lived most of his life in Hillsborough County. He was a graduate of Wimauma High School, class of '55. He retired after 31 years as a Supervisor with Cargill and also retired after 10 years as a Park Ranger with the State of Florida. George was the Past Master of the DeSoto Masonic Lodge #105 in Riverview. He was a member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church in Eureka, Florida where he was also baptized. He was a big Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Lightning fan and also loved the outdoors. George is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Barbara May Fears, and his parents, John and Flossie Fears. George is survived by his wife, Eleanor Yvonne Gibson Fears; sons, George (Marilyn) Fears, Jr., and Richard (Julie) Fears; and 3 grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his wife and her family. There will be a graveside service conducted by Serenity Meadows of Riverview on Monday, August 16, 2021 at 2:00PM at Oaklawn Cemetery East in Plant City, Florida.
