Geraldine M. Stensland, age 98, passed away peacefully at home on April 15, 2022 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born on January 22, 1924 in Hammond, Indiana. She was married for 59 years to Albert M. Stensland.
Geraldine is preceded in death by her husband, Albert M. Stensland; children James A. Stensland and Linda Stensland; and her family in Hammond, Indiana.
She is survived by her children: Susan (Kenneth) Baker and Albert (Sarah) M. Stensland; Grandchildren: Justin (Amare), Marcy (Fernando), Ronnie Merrill), Kelly (James), Andrew (Leeah); Great grandchildren: Allison, Ben, Mia, Kendall, Kennedy, Jocelyn, Jayden, Bridget, Sawyer, and Shelby. She is also survived by her late son's companion, Angie San Miguel of Brownsville, TX.
"Gerry", as she liked to be called, was a military wife moving with her husband many times over during his 21-year military career in the United States Navy. Following retirement of her husband from the military, she resided in for many years in Harlingen, Texas. Gerry worked as a proofreader for 10 years at a Harlingen citrus fruit packing company. She was loving wife and full-time mother.
Geraldine and Albert Stensland will be ceremonially interred at the Corpus Christi State Veterans Cemetery in a private service at a future date.
