Geraldine "Geri" Margaret Palmieri, the beloved wife and mother of four sons, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the age of 86. Geri was born to Harry J. Gorman and Beatrice Gorman nee Beers on October 10, 1935, in Trenton, NJ. She attended and graduated from New Jersey State Teachers College in 1958. While in college, Geri married Peter Pamieri in Sacred Heart Parish of Trenton, NJ on June 25, 1959. They had four sons, Peter Jr, Christopher, Todd, and Mark.
Geri taught in Trenton Public Schools before devoting herself full-time to raising her sons. She returned to work later with the American Red Cross of Trenton. Geri loved the community of Trenton and took a great deal of pride in serving Trenton's most vulnerable. She fought quietly and graciously for the rights of others. She believed in and stood for the human dignity of all. She would often speak of her time at the Red Cross, and the particular people who crossed her path. Geri was a devout Catholic and a longtime parishioner at Sacred Heart, New Jersey's oldest Catholic Church. Geri and her husband volunteered for the parish throughout their lives.
Family and friends were the center of Geri's universe. She regularly hosted large, boisterous and loving family gatherings throughout the year. She is survived by her sons, Peter (Leslie) Palmieri of Eden Prairie, MN, Christopher Palmieri of Danville, VT, Todd (Dora) Palmieri of Danville, VT, and Mark (Dawn) Palmieri of Bensalem PA, and eight grandchildren, John Palmieri, Ben Palmieri, Sarah Palmieri, Michael Palmieri, Sophie Palmieri, Vincent Kurczewski III, Samantha Feingold, and Seth Feingold.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 77 Clay St, Littleton, NH 03561. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in her memory to Sacred Heart Church, 343 S. Broad St., Trenton, NJ 08608.
