Eddie Geraldine Perry Freeland, 94, went peacefully into the arms of Jesus April 3, 2022. Jerry was born in Dallas, Texas, on January 17, 1928, the only child of L. E. Truman Perry and Minnie Bea Atchley. She was the new kid at school in the eighth grade in Granbury, Texas where the love of her life first set his sights on her. He fell in love with her beautiful knees. J. W. "Jake" Freeland married her on July 30, 1948 and their union lasted until his death 73 years later. Jerry was a bookkeeper for most of her life. She enjoyed keeping books and balancing to the penny. Her first job was at M & B Fishing Tool but she honed her skill at Freeland Dental Laboratory and Sherwood Mobile Home Estates. Jerry was an avid reader and loved murder mysteries most of all. She travelled to Alaska, Las Vegas, Nashville, Hawaii, England, Scotland, the Cayman Islands, Mexico, Canada, Branson, and many other places. For many years she was a dedicated Girl Scout Troop leader. Jerry also enjoyed the challenge of crossword puzzles and solitaire. Jerry was a high school cheerleader and always loved a good football game. She was known to rocket energetically out of her seat screaming and jumping for joy. Most of all she was known for her sassy nature. One friend referred to her as a pistol. Most of all she was very rarely apart from her true love Jake. They frequently travelled by motorcycle or car or pick up or RV. Jerry was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Jake.
