Geraldine Roser Crenshaw, 95, died peacefully at home on April 26, 2022. Jerry was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 27, 1926, daughter of the late Gerald Vincent Roser and Dorothy Louise Roser. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 61 years, Elton Dixon Crenshaw; her sister, Vivienne Roser Hammond; and her brother John Louis (Jack) Roser.
Jerry graduated from Spartanburg High School and attended Converse College. Her family was her greatest joy, and she was devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was affectionately known as "Nana" to them and many others. Jerry enjoyed needlepointing, playing bridge and tennis, and volunteering at Mary Black Hospital and Mobile Meals. She was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as a Stephen Minister.
Surviving are her son, Elton Dixon Crenshaw, Jr., and his wife, Ann Richards McCall Crenshaw, of Spartanburg; her daughter, Carol Crenshaw Barre and husband, Henry Walter Barre, II, of Spartanburg; five grandchildren: Blair Barre Morris (WD, Jr.) of Columbia, Bert Dixon Barre (Katherine) of Spartanburg, Brooks McCall Crenshaw (Carolyn) of Spartanburg, Callie Crenshaw Hammett (Rob) of Spartanburg, Jeri Barre Cason (William) of Columbia; and twelve great-grandchildren: William and Henry Morris of Columbia, Sallie, Martha, and Dixon Barre of Spartanburg, James and Charles Crenshaw of Spartanburg, Mary English and Eloise Hammett of Spartanburg, Caroline, Elizabeth, and Hammond Cason of Columbia.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Interim Healthcare and Spartanburg Regional Hospice who provided loving and compassionate care to Jerry. A special thanks to her long-term caregivers Tabatha Forrester, Glenda Turner, Tammy Shelton and Bobbie Brown.
A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
