Jerry Teiken passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Northern Pines Assisted Living in Pine City at the age of 79.
Gerald William Teiken was born September 19, 1942 to William and Erma (Kasparek) Teiken on the family farm in Crow Wing County, Minnesota. Jerry attended school in Aitkin and graduated from the Aitkin High School. After high School he was in the Minnesota National Guard and attended Motley Trade School.
Jerry specialized in technology development and new product development for 3M Maplewood. During Jerry's 35 years of employment with 3M; he had a patent in telephone and medical equipment he developed. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pine City and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
When Eric was young and in cub scouts, Jerry was a Cub Scout Master. When not working, Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and golfing. He Many times you could find him volunteering at the Pine City Food Shelf or delivering Meals on Wheels. Jerry also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his son Eric Teiken, grandson Ryan Teiken; great grandsons Oliver Teiken, Odin Teiken; siblings Mary Jo Best of Brainerd, Shirley (Tom) Gravelle of Aitkin, Lorraine Mullen of Princeton; stepchildren Jeff (Sheryle) Colombo of New Richmond, John (Tami) Colombo of Stillwater; many step grandchildren; ex-wife Karen Teiken of White Bear Lake; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents William & Erma Teiken, brother-in-law Roger Best.
Monsignor Aleksander Suchan will celebrated a Mass of Christian Burial for Jerry, Wednesday, September 21st at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. There was a time of visitation for friends and family one hour prior to the mass in St. Anthony's Commons at church. His interment will take place at a later date in St. Thomas Cemetery, Aitkin, Minnesota.
