Gerald Ernest Gigeous , 96 May 10, 1924 - Jan 11, 2021 Gerald E. Gigeous, 96, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Monday, January 11, 2021, at Doey's Hospice House. Born May 10, 1924 in Zittlestown, MD, he was the son of Alvey Reichard Gigeous and Naomi Zittle Gigeous. Gerald served in the army during WWII. He worked at Fairchild in Hagerstown and then for the Coca-Cola Company. He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia, and having a pristine vegetable garden. He and his second wife, Beverly, had a Christmas tree farm and raised peacocks. He has a strong Christian faith and was a member of Salem Reformed Church. His wife, Evelyn High, preceded him in death on May 9, 1982, and his second wife, Beverly Williams Gigeous, on August 16, 2011. His daughter and stepdaughter, Barbara Meacoms and Diane Starliper, preceded him in death as well as his sister, Judy Mann. He is survived by a brother, Maynard Gigeous; three sisters, Genevieve Warrenfeltz, Rosalee Jones, and Connie Slifer; three children and two stepchildren, Gerald Gigeous, Jr. and wife, Gina, of Charles Town, WV, Deborah Snyder and partner, Sam Sigler, of Williamsport, MD, Terry Gigeous and wife, Alissa, of Carlisle, PA, David Williams and wife, Kay, of Greensboro, NC, and Denise Grab and husband, Charles, Jr., of Hagerstown, MD; 17 grandchildren, James Gigeous, Robert Gigeous, Christi Finnerty, Dwayne Snyder, Ginger Snyder, Zack Gigeous, Emily Gigeous, Kirstyn Richard, Renee Duncan, Mark Williams, Kate Loatman, Charlie Grab III, Leah Clipp, Grace Skroban, Amber Watkins, Donnie Smith, and Michael Smith; and multiple great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held 12pm on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Salem Reformed Church. Pastor Eric Cox will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Reformed Cemetery. Graveside military honors provided by Boonsboro American Legion. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
