Georgia Kay (Hotchko) Tamplen, 73, of Ransom Canyon passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021. She was born April 9, 1947 to George and Doris (Sheffield) Hotchko in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Georgia graduated from Lawton High School and went on to complete her Associates Degree at Cameron College. She married Robert F. Tamplen, Jr. on June 11, 1967 and together they shared 23 years before he passed away in 1990. She moved to Ransom Canyon in 1998 and began working at Arctic Glacier before moving to Ralls Gin and later to Mosaics. Georgia began working at Roosevelt schools in 2013 where she worked with special needs students and most recently with the dual credit and credit recovery programs. Soon after her arrival in Ransom Canyon she became involved with First Baptist Church, Roosevelt and served in the children's program and as the organist. Georgia loved working with children and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and had a servant's heart, always sharing with others by contributing to church dinners, as well as to families needing meals. Georgia was highly involved in her Bible study group. She also loved to travel.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Jennifer Tamplen; sons, Richard Tamplen and Jeffrey Tamplen; sisters, Linda Hotchko, Patricia Curran and Marilyn Scott; brother George J. Hotchko, Jr. and 4 grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert F. Tamplen, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
