Georgia Lee (Searfoss) Hoffman, 73, of Harrisburg, passed away Thursday May 28, 2020, at UPMC Community General Osteopathic Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Born July 21, 1946, in New Castle, PA, she was a daughter of the late George P. and Dorothy L. (Styers) Searfoss. Georgia was a 1964 graduate of New Castle High School. On May 6, 1972, she was united in marriage with Lawrence H. Hoffman, Jr., with whom she has shared a devoted union of 48 years.
While Georgia always felt her most important role was that of a wife and mother, she had worked at EDS and E-Z Pass for a number of years before retiring. Georgia found great joy in spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren - especially when she was able to prepare Sunday dinners for everyone. She also enjoyed camping and bowling.
Georgia is survived by her loving husband, Larry, and sons, Scott L. Hoffman, his wife Christina and their children, Gavyn and Keegan Hoffman; and Jason L. Hoffman and his children, Gabriella and Chase Hoffman. She is also survived by her sisters, Janice Testa and Dottie Searfoss, both of New Castle and Patricia Searfoss, of Celina, OH, and a brother, Clyde Searfoss and his wife Cheryl, of Celina, OH. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an older sister, Joyce Ann Searfoss.
Her Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Monday June 8, 2020 at the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg. Friends may call on Monday, from 10:30 to 11:30 A.M, prior to the service. In keeping with the current health guidelines, visitors are encouraged to exercise the proper precautions in attending. Interment will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Four Diamonds at Penn State Children's Hospital, 1249 Cocoa Avenue, Suite 115, P.O. Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033 or at fourdiamonds.org.
