George L. Varney, 73, of Plum, formerly of Bethel Park, passed Wednesday, July 6, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred J. Varney Sr., and mother, Ellen Varney. He was the loving brother of Fred J. Varney Jr.; brother-in-law of Carolyn Varney; uncle of James M. (Renee) Varney and Julie M. (Robert) Manion; and great-uncle of Jonathan, Crystal, Noah and Jenna. An avid reader, George enjoyed wooden puzzles and was a computer whiz. He loved traveling to New Orleans. George was also a lifelong Steelers fan. Family and friends are welcome from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2022, at PAUL HENNEY CREMATION AND FUNERAL TRIBUTES, 5570 Library Road, Bethel Park, where a blessing service will be held at 8 p.m. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Jefferson Memorial Park.
