George Ransom Reynolds of Salisbury, Maryland, went home to be with the Lord on Monday February 24, 2025, at the age of 93, at Wicomico Nursing Home where he had resided since January 2023. He was born on October 15, 1931, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the son of the late Richard W. Reynolds and Dorothy Ransom Reynolds of Omaha.
George attended public schools in Omaha graduating from Benson High School in 1949. At Benson, he was on the school football team and was a pole vaulter on the track team, lettering in both sports. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951, retiring in 1971 after 20 years of service with the rank of Master Sergeant. He served America during the Korean and Vietnam wars at various deployments around the world. He was a life member of the Air Force Sergeants Association. After retirement from the Air Force, he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Salisbury for 19 years, until he retired in 1992.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Martha Frances (Hurley) Reynolds, two sisters Barbara Jane Montgomery and Jean Elizabeth Carter, and two brothers Charles Brayton Reynolds and James Richard Reynolds. He is survived by many nieces and nephews on the Reynolds and Hurley sides of the family.
The family would like to thank his nurses, care givers and staff of Wicomico Nursing Home for the wonderful way they took care of him this past year. They truly shared the love of Christ with him on a daily basis.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 8th at 11:00 am in Greenlawn Cemetery, 2272 Hudson Road, Cambridge, Maryland. Rev. Jay Hurley will officiate. Family and friends are encouraged to share their memories of "Uncle George" at that time, too.
