George Masato Ono, also known as "Pops" or "Anisan," of Wahiawa, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on January 2, 2024, peacefully at home with his family by his side at age 90. He is survived by his eldest daughter Debra-Ann (Ono) Achong, son, Derrick, granddaughter, Brandi (Clint) Yamasaki, grandson, Ace (Hoku) Achong (Danielle), great-granddaughters, Cloey-Anne and Bryndee-Anne and great-grandson, Clydtin Jase (CJ). He is predeceased by wife, Merle (Aiko), son, Nathan, father, Masao Ono and mother, Yoshiko (Okahata) Ono.
Graduated from Farrington High School in 1952. In 1954 he enlisted in the Army and completed training and classes at Kapiolani Community College Technical School Hotel and Restaurant as a cook and was honorably discharged in 1962. Went to work for his parents fish cake company "Daimaru Fish Cake" until his parents relocated to Los Angeles and opened "Ono Fish Cake Company." He went on to work for Aloha Airlines until his retirement.
As per George's request, funeral services will not be held. Private inurnment was held. Arrangements
