George F. Lewis III George Lewis, 59, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022 at his home in Bradford, VT. He was born November 1, 1962 in Hanover, NH to Mr. and Mrs. George F. Lewis Jr. He grew up in Canaan, NH and attended Mascoma Valley Regional High School. He proudly served in the US Army, where he was a Sergeant in the motor pool. He was stationed in Germany and Fort Lewis in Washington state. He held several positions at Timken as a machinist, maintenance and supervisory. He was the Facilities Manager at Alice Peck Day Hospital before moving to Florida for a short well deserved retirement. He moved back to the Upper Valley and managed the Veterans Cafe Services at the VA in White River Jct., VT. He was known for his sense of humor. He was quick witted. He was a caring person who loved his family tremendously. He was generous, always lending his tools or tractor or helping someone who needed his help. He loved watching NASCAR and working in his garage fixing up cars that he could resell. He was an avid hunter. He was mechanically inclined and could fix most anything. George is predeceased by his father, George F. Lewis Jr. He is survived by his mother, Siblings Dennis Lewis (Michelle), Bonnie Labrie (David), Cheryl Duby (Jake), his children Alex Lewis and Katie Stevens, Grandson Aidan Lewis, Nieces Lindsay Lewis and Mackenzie Labrie, Nephew Zach Duby and great nieces and nephews. He had a special relationship with John and Sandy Morin whom he considered a second set of parents and they treated him like their son.
