George Richard Jones, 59, of Hollywood, MD passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024 at Hospice of St. Mary's in Callaway, MD.
He is survived by his siblings: Jimmy Bowles (Debi) of Hollywood, MD; Frank Jones (Candy) of Martin, GA; Becky Dixon of Mechanicsville, MD; Timmy Jones (Dana) of Mechanicsville, MD; Susan Palmer (Charles) of Mechanicsville, MD; and Judy Smith (Billy) of Hollywood, MD.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoover James Jones and Anne Theresa Jones of Hollywood, MD.
George was a lifelong resident of St. Mary's County and was loved by all who knew him. He enjoyed anything to do with the water (fishing, crabbing and oystering). He enjoyed working with his hands and had an eye for detail. He enjoyed painting cars, working with fiberglass and was a talented tile installer. He was also a great story teller who always knew how to make you laugh. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his nieces and nephews.
As per George's wishes, there will not be any formal services. A gathering is being planned for the end of September. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of St. Mary's in Callaway under George's name.
