George B. Grant, Jr., age 88, died November 15, 2022, peacefully at home with his family by his side.
He was born in Manchester NH on June 10, 1934, son of George B. Grant and Ida E. Grant (Gott). He graduated from Central High School Class of 1954. He and his wife owned and operated G. Grant Trucking and Moving Co.
George enjoyed building hotrods and race cars. He was a member of Roving Rodders Club and a driver at Manchester Motordrome and Hudson Speedway. He was one of the early founders of Southern NH Snow Slickers and a Trail Master. He held memberships in the Hooksett Chamber of Commerce, Hooksett Men's Club, Hooksett Congregational Church, Elks Club #146, Baboosic Lake Association, Manchester Radio Aid Inc., Jewel Lodge #94 F.A.A.M. Suncook NH, Hiram Chapter #24 and Bektash Shrine of 47 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Helen Grant and their children, Linda Newell and husband Steve of Newbury, George B. Grant IV and wife Sharon of Hooksett, Beverly Pouliot and husband Raymond of Deerfield, Albert Grant and his fianc? Tracy of Merrimack, Roberta Libby and her fianc? Greg of Manchester, William F. Libby, Sr. and wife Dorothy of Hooksett, and Peter Libby, Sr. and wife Katrinka of Weatherford Texas; 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, NH on Monday, November 21st from 4 - 7 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 22nd at 10 AM with burial to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Manchester, NH.
