George Leonard Gilmer II
If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity, nothing else matters.
George L Gilmer II passed away the night of May 27, 2018 due to complications related to Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was at home, in Silverdale, WA., surrounded by his loved ones.
George was first and foremost a believer in Jesus Christ as his personal savior. He shared his faith with everyone.
Born in Charleroi, Pennsylvania in 1952, he joined the US Navy after high school graduation, and served for a while on submarines. After an honorable discharge, he joined the US Army. He was a Retired Army Veteran who served his country tirelessly even after his retirement. His Patriotic Activism was a driving force in his life until the very end.
He was a world traveler who embraced many cultures and peoples. George had a great sense of humor and warm heart. He would give the shirt off his back for someone in need.
His hobbies included: leather crafting, shooting, fishing, camping, hiking and mountain climbing. He enjoyed Military & Survival Training, collecting guns, collecting knives, and reloading his own ammunition. He was the ultimate survivalist.
George is survived by his three grown children: George Leonard Gilmer III, Kira Lynn Gilmer, and Alexandra Gilmer along with many loved ones and his dog, Jani Bear.
He will be dearly missed by everyone who was blessed by his life.
George is now at peace in Heaven with all his family and friends who have gone before him. Those of us left behind will someday be reunited with him in Heaven. (Psalm Chapter 30)
