George Donald Hussey

George Donald Hussey of Bryan, Texas, age 93, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 1, 2022. Cremation services are in the care of Memorial Funeral Chapel Bryan,Texas.
Known to his friends as 'Don' he was born in Wabash County, Illinois on January 3, 1929. He was a graduate of Western Illinois University and served in the U.S. Navy. He was married to his college sweetheart, Agnes Vollmer on August 16, 1953, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Baldwin, Illinois. Don worked his entire career as a chemist with Shell Oil Company before retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Cypress, Texas and 50-year member of the American Chemical Society.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Agnes Marie Hussey, his father, Ozro J. Hussey and his mother and stepfather Ethel May Ridgley and Charles Franklin Abell, two brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by a sister Wilma Jean Gerrish of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, a son and daughter-in-law Mark and Melissa Hussey of Bryan, Texas; a daughter and son-in law Susan and Patrick Casey of Ballwin, Missouri; and four grandchildren William A. Hussey of George West, Texas, Tim Casey of Ballwin, Missouri, Anna Fleming and Christine Troutman of Ellisville, Missouri along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Don was a devoted father and friend who enjoyed his family, church, and traveling.
A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date in St. Louis, Missouri with family.
Memorials can be made in Don's honor to the Disabled American Veterans, St. John's Lutheran Church-Cypress, TX or to the American Heart Association.
