George Diaz:
Born to Octavio Diaz and Nora Taylor Diaz.
Married to Betty Jean Diaz for 34 years.
Survived by 3 sons, 3 stepsons, Daniel Bentrup, Stephan Bentrup, and Leslie Smith, Jr.; one step-daughter, Evon Thornton; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Lived in Newark, DE in the late 1970s where he was a business consultant and traveled the world for about 5 years.
George and his wife bought 80 acres in Elkins, WV, built their own log cabin and owned a computer & phone store.
In the 1990's, George and his wife relocated to Ridgely, MD, to be closer to family. George worked as a carpenter until retiring in 2012 and moving to Chestertown, MD.
George loved motorcycles, music and Betty. He loved wood-working, making boxes & clocks as a hobby. While some were sold, many were given as gifts. He is known for his sense of humor, his cacophonous one-man band and eating all the Snickerdoodles. We will miss George's laugh and his smile that lite the room.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at later date.
