George Joseph Colee peacefully passed away, at 93 years old, on December 1, 2024. His visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Clydel Chapman of Northside Baptist Church officiating. A burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Joseph Colee, a well-established business owner; known for his unwavering work ethic and generosity. He was born in Shelbyville, Indiana to John and Justina Colee on November 23rd of 1931. George lived a life full of ambitious travel, having served in the Korean War, where he was stationed in Germany. Following his service, he received a bachelorundefineds degree at North Texas University and soon after, owned and operated three businesses in Odessa, retiring at the age of 88. Visits to the mountains and snow skiing were his favorite pastimes, along with boating and trips piloting his plane. Above all Mr. Colee always made family and employees his priority. He was a generous provider and a beam of support to many. George is preceded in death by his wife, Janeen Colee; his son, Joe Matheny; his parents, John and Justina Colee; his sister, Mable Bonenberger, of Indiana; and his sister, Maude Wagner, also of Indiana. George is survived by his sister, Mary Ann Sebastian of Shelbyville, Indiana; brother, John Colee and his wife Sue of Greenberg, Indiana; sons, Glenn Colee and his wife Paula of Shertz, Texas, Wes Colee of Lubbock Texas; daughter, Debra Matheny of Odessa, Texas; 4 grandchildren, Andrea Daly, Britany Garner, Chad Webster, Sarah Snow; 8 great grandchildren, Peyton Daly, Lily Garner, Jameson Garner, Fayth Webster, Halle Webster, Sterling Webster, Bennett Snow, Elliot Snow. Georgeundefineds presence will be deeply missed by all those who knew him. May his legacy of generosity and love continue to inspire us all.
