George D. Charney, 89, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021.
He was born in Akron and was a federal employee working for the Department of Defense and Goodyear Aerospace. He was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and a lifelong member of the Jednota Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean Conflict and enjoyed Motorcycling.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice. He is survived by his children, Mark (Michelle), Mike (Carol) Charney, Patricia (Robert) Butler and Paul Charney; sister, Betty Ann (Mike) Allen; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 300 E. Tallmadge Ave. Akron, Ohio 44310. Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
