Genowefa "Jean" (Solak) Parys, 98, of New Britain, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 4, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter Parys. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of Piotr Solak and Anna (Stefanska) Solak, and was a longtime member of Holy Cross Church. Known to the family as "Our Beautiful Aunty Ginger", she was loved by all. Her kindness, her ever-present smile and her desire to always help, will be greatly missed. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, "Babci" leaves two sons and their wives, Joseph and Catherine Parys of New Britain, and Walter and Donna Parys of Granby; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Parys of Hudson, FL, Joseph Parys of New Britain, Ryan Bohn of Plainville, and Jessica Tyler of New York; and five great grandchildren, Krysta and Jeffrey Parys of Savannah, GA, Madison and Ryan Bohn of Plainville, and Donovan Tyler of New York. Special blessings are offered for Penelope Nash and "Metoo" of Florida, Cynthia and Bob Erling of Bristol, and Hennie Budnik of Newington. In addition, the family wishes to thank Gary and Delores Robinson of New Britain who watched over her like guardian angels. We wish to express great gratitude to the extended family of Linda Bohn and Donna Parys for the many times they made our mother smile. For the Solak family, Budnik family, Stanley Parys family, James and Leslie Parys family and Cecilia Parys family...a prayer, a smile and a wink. God bless you all. And to all her casino and bingo buddies...GOOD LUCK! She was pre-deceased by two sisters Helen Toczko, Stephanie Budnik and her brother Walter Solak. The family would also like to express its deepest appreciation to the staff of Jerome Home for the kindness and wonderful care given to Jean. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, May 7, 2021, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Duksa Family Funeral Funeral Homes, 332 Burritt St., New Britain. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church. She will be laid to rest beside her husband Walter in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain.
