Geneva "Jan" Miko, 87, passed away at 12:24pm Monday, June 14, 2021 in her residence.
Geneva was born on January 7, 1934 in Lawton, OK to Andie and Linnie (Blakemore) Walker. She worked for Aramark and was an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles, crocheting and canning.
On June 2, 1956, in Shreveport Louisiana she married Joseph S. Miko Jr. and moved back to South Bend, Indiana where they stayed the remainder of her life. Joseph preceded her in death along with three brothers Burke Walker, Donald Walker and Tommy Robertson.
Jan leaves behind her children: Don, (Cindy), Lori, (Pat) Ewing, Rick, Sandy, (Dave) Campbell, Cindy, (Joshua) Polando. Grandchildren: Sara, (Jack) Smith, Amy Ewing, Dan (Michelle) Campbell, Emily (Arthur) Rosales, Ian, Emma, and Ben Polando. Her great-grandchildren include: Nate Ewing, Angelo Flores, Makenna and Keaton Smith and Cohen and Conor Campbell, as well as a sister Carolyn Cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am Tuesday, June 22, 2021 in Our Lady of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Sumption Prairie Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Monday from 4-8 in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue where a rosary will be recited at 6:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer / Dementia Services, Meow Mission, or Wounded Warriors.
