The family of Geneva Giesecke will honor her life of nearly 86 years at a graveside service at the Afton Cemetery, Afton, Texas, Wednesday, June 30, 2021, 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be at Agape Funeral Chapel Tuesday June 29 from 4-6PM. Geneva Dean (Gage) Giesecke passed away on June 26, 2021. She was born June 29, 1935, in Croton, Texas, Dickens County, the daughter of Charlie and Ouida Gage. Geneva was a 1954 graduate of Patton Springs High School. Geneva and Rockne Leland (Sappo) Giesecke married April 9, 1955. They made their home in El Paso,Texas, Odessa, Texas, and Los Angeles, California, before settling in Floydada, Texas, where Geneva and R.L. owned and operated White's Auto. In 1981 they moved to Lubbock, Texas. Geneva was a member of Quaker Avenue Church of Christ. Geneva was preceded in death by R.L., her husband of 58 years, her parents, Charlie and Ouida Gage, and her brother Jerry Gage. She is survived by her children, Mike (Penny) Giesecke, of Floydada and Elaine (William) Cochran of Lubbock and Matador, grandchildren Zalanda (C.J.) Naranjo of Lubbock and Lance (Andrea) Ruland of Prosper, Texas. Geneva has six great grandchildren, Christian, Cayden and Cashton Naranjo, and Tristan, Wesley and Hannah Ruland of Prosper, Texas. She is also survived by sisters Evelyn Yeates of Lubbock, Texas, and Pat (Bob) Forbis of Afton, numerous nieces and nephews. The family has designated memorial contributions in Geneva's memory to the Afton Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 533, Afton, Tx, 79244.
