Gary Ryan Davenport died suddenly on October 22, 2018 in San Antonio, TX at the age of 43. Ryan was born on September 25, 1975 in Corpus Christi, TX. He was a strong-willed child who was fearless and loved debating his point of view. As a youth, Ryan struggled in school, but he excelled in sports. He played Little League Baseball and competed in the Swim Team State Championships twice. By the time he reached adulthood he had overcome his academic struggles. He graduated at the top of his Paramedic Class in 1998; in 2016 he graduated from Del Mar College with an Associate Degree in Psychology and was within 1 year of obtaining his bachelor's degree in Psychology. He held a 4.0 GPA, made the Dean's List every semester and received several scholarships and other recognitions. He held memberships in The National Society of Leadership and Success as well as HonorSociety.org. Ryan loved the outdoors. He grew up fishing and hunting with his dad and grandfather and continued these hobbies into adulthood. For a time, he was married and fathered three beautiful children. They carry his sharp wit and spunky attitude. He had a deep compassion for people with mental illness, always recognizing that they need love and friendship just the same as everyone else.
