MOULTRIE, GA - Gary Anthony Rogers, 69, of Moultrie, GA, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center while surrounded by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Hopewell Baptist with Rev. Julian Griner officiating. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Casketbearers will include A. J. Hood, Cayden Parker, Wade Hall, and Irwin "Ned" Tillman. Honorary casketbearers will include James Hightower, Michael Wisenbaker, and Brad Stripling.
Born November 3, 1953, he was the son of Dorothy Pearl Hall Rogers and the late Gerald Anthony Rogers. Gary was a 1971 graduate of Moutrie Senior High School and proudly served our country as a retired 1st Lieutenant in the Army National Guard. He also served at Potentate of Hasan Shrine in Albany in 2009. Gary retired from Merck in Albany, GA. Other employment history includes Moultrie Electric Service and Colquitt County Maintenance Department. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, Gary is survived by his loving wife, Carol Davis Rogers; a sister, Cathy Hood and husband Mickey of Moultrie; his children Millicent Gamble and husband Stephen of Moultrie, Meritt Stolze and husband Gary of Sylvester, and a bonus daughter Anita Moore of Moultrie; grandchildren, Marina Kastelic, Seth Kastelic, Maitlyn Stolze, and Stephen Gamble Jr.; great-grandchildren, Brennalyn Laughter, Alessa Kastelic, and Emmett Kastelic; nieces, Carrie Parker and Crystal Hood; nephew, A.J. Hood and wife Savannah; and great nieces and nephews, Natalie Bryan, Cayden Parker, Carissa Bryan, Carson Parker, Hadlyn Hood and Trevor Hood.
