Church service for Garry Shipman, age 78, of Muleshoe, Texas, is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Trinity Christian Center Church in Muleshoe with Reydon Stanford of Muleshoe officiating. Garry died Friday, November 8, 2024 in Muleshoe. He was born November 8, 1946 in Muleshoe to Joe and Edna (Lowery) Shipman. He married Sherri Fitzgerald in Clovis, New Mexico on April 6, 1974.
Garry served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He was very patriotic and loved his country. He started Shipman's Body Shop with his father, Joe on July 4, 1970. Garry enjoyed restoring classic cars. His most treasured project was his 1968 Corvette, which was his labor of love. Garry loved to play golf, hunt and travel as well. Garry participated in numerous community organizations for many years. He especially loved watching his children and grandchildren and participate in their various activities. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Danny Shipman.
Garry is survived by his wife Sherri; his four sons, Dr. Kent Reynolds and his wife, Hollye of Groesbeck, Texas, Sean Shipman of Panhandle, Texas, Tim Shipman and his wife, Rebecca of Fredricksburg, Texas and Todd Shipman and his wife, Brenna of Muleshoe, Texas; his daughter, Mandy Coers and her husband, Lance of Wylie, Texas; a brother, Nelson Shipman and his wife, Trish of Burnet, Texas; his sister-in-law, Pam Shipman of Granbury, Texas; ten grandchildren, Tara Williams, Shane Shipman and his wife, Sierra, Blayne Shipman, Hailye Wilson and her husband, Luke, Braden Shipman, Tate Shipman, Ellie Shipman, Ayden Coers, Taylor Shipman and Zeke Shipman; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
