Gail M. (Droge) Van Glahn, 78, of Temple Terrace, FL sadly passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 after a brief battle with COVID-19.
Gail was born to Charles J. Droge and Mary A. Fitzpatrick on November 5, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY. She married Ernest (Ernie) L. Van Glahn on May 2, 1964 in Brooklyn. Gail was a homemaker before retiring with Ernie to The Villages, FL in 1997. She was an avid Elvis fan, a Red Hat Society member, and had fun country dancing, going on cruises and playing bunco. She enjoyed ceramics, cross-stitching and beading - handmaking special gifts for family and friends. Gail was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed.
Predeceased by her husband; parents; two brothers, John and Edward Droge; and grandson, Nicholas, who also tragically died of COVID-19 last year at the age of 29. Gail is survived by her sons Christopher and his wife Louise of Mount Juliet, TN, and Patrick of Totowa, NJ; grandchildren Ryan, Patrick Jr. and Brittani; brother, Robert; and beloved dog, Shay Rose.
In lieu of flowers, please help find a cure for Alzheimer's Disease by making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association at act.alz.org. And until we're beyond this pandemic, we implore everyone to do their part to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 so families can be spared the pain of losing ones they love.
The family is incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love and support, and will be holding a private service.
