Gail Stallings
Help us celebrate Gail! Please share your stories and photos, and invite others who remember Gail.
After battling cancer since June of 2018, Gail Clendaniel Stallings passed away peacefully at home on January 30, 2021. She was born on March 31,1956 in Salisbury, Maryland, the only child of William Vernon and Estella Metzner Clendaniel who both proceeded Gail in death. Gail grew up in Cambridge, Maryland, which was a unique small town and a wonderful place. She had great parents, great memories, and lifelong friends on the Eastern Shore. There she gained a deep love of and appreciation for water and for Maryland blue crabs & oysters. Gail had great memories of mallets pounding on the picnic table in the backyard of her childhood home. Gail married Phillip Michael (Mikey) Stallings on March 4, 1988, and in doing so inherited a loving family that has grown throughout the years.
Gail is survived by her husband, two stepchildren - Jeff Stallings & his wife Pam of Winston-Salem, NC, and Julie Stallings & her husband Bert Inabinet, of High Rock Lake, North Carolina. Gail is also survived by her step grandchildren Cameron Stallings and his wife Elizabeth and their children Unika, Maya, and Shiloh of Copper Hill, Virginia, Stephanie Stallings of Blacksburg, Virginia, Bailey Inabinet of Charlotte, NC, and cousin and godchild Rachelle Baynard of Milford, Delaware. Mike & Gail are members of Davidson United Methodist Church and the Bill Hight Sunday School Class. Over her professional career, Gail held various positions in North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Toronto with Western Electric, AT&T, Lucent Technologies, Celestica, and Physicians Pharmacy Alliance. Although not the original plan, human resources became her passion and professional calling where she remained until retiring in 2018. Her love of people and strong relationships contributed to her success. She loved helping others professionally and personally. Her husband, family, and dear friends brought great joy to her life. Gail also loved her miniature Schnauzers, travel all over the world, music, games (she never passed on a game of charades and seldom lost), tennis and her homes on Grand Lake and later Lake Norman. Gail's faith and her sense of humor helped her through difficult and trying times.
