WHITTEMORE--Frederick Brewster, on May 30th at age 91 following a lengthy illness. A longtime resident of New York City and Watch Hill, RI, he was born in Pembroke, NH and attended Dartmouth College and the Tuck School of Business. Following service as a Lieutenant in the Navy, he joined Morgan Stanley & Co. in 1958 where he spent his entire professional career, rising to Partner in 1967, Managing Director in 1970 and Advisory Director in 1989. He was a board member of the Aspen Institute, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Beloved husband for 51 years of Marion, who predeceased him and the son of the late Laurence F. Whittemore and Evelyn F. Whittemore. He also was predeceased by his brothers Charles and Bert. His survivors include his son, Laurence F. Whittemore III (Kathleen), of Greenwich, CT, his son, Edward B. Whittemore of West Hartford, CT and his grandchildren, James, Eliza, Paige, Thomas and Robert. Memorial services will be held at the Brick Presbyterian Church, Park Avenue at 91st St. on Wednesday, June 22nd at 10:30am and the Watch Hill Chapel in Watch Hill, RI on Thursday, July 21st at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Watch Hill Conservancy in Watch Hill, RI or the Weekapaug Foundation for Conservation in Weekapaug, RI.
