Volpe, Frederick (Fred) passed away peacefully at home on 8-11-2021 at the age of 85 years old. Born in New York on 3-28-36. Predeceased by Josephine and Fred Volpe and ex-wife Barbara Connors Volpe and survived by his loving wife of 36 years Dorothy.
Lovingly remembered by his children Tom (Jenny) Volpe, Donna (John) Mereider, Laura (Mark) Snow, Jeanne (Jeff) Hayes, Barbara (Dave) Kamm, 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, stepchildren Rebecca Spitzer, Troy (Chrissy) Snelson, Leigh (Jack) Veasey and 4 step-grandchildren, his sisters Eleanor Gricco, Maryanne (Adio) Crocco and brother Frank (Maureen) Volpe.
He served in the United States Marine Corp with great pride, received his BBA from Pace College in 1964 and MBA from Iona College in 1972. He worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance in New York, IBM from 1967-1992 and IBM in Atlanta from 1992-1998 as a data base designer and systems analyst. He worked as a tax preparer as an Enrolled Agent from 1992-2014. He was an avid runner with 18 Peachtree Road Races and a Marine Corps Marathon. His hobbies were wood working, golf, travel and cruising. The family would like to extend a special thanks to his caregivers - Evans, Rebecca, Branty, Kay, Victoria, Mimi, Danielle, Heather and stepdaughter Rebecca.
A graveside service will be held on September 13th at the Georgia National Cemetery. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice or American Heroes @ Atlanta Humane Society (981 Howell Mill Rd Atlanta, GA 30318)
