Frederick R. Kasburg, 91, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021 at his home.
Fred was born July 1, 1929 to Clarence and Thelma (May) Kasburg in Akron and had been an area resident his entire life. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was employed by Sears for 30 years, retiring in 1991. He was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church and involved in the Walther League.
Fred is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Joan (Shumaker); children Lorinda (Joe) Falasca, Douglas (Laura) Kasburg, Duane Kasburg, Melanie (John) Waickman, and Derick (Michele) Kasburg; grandchildren Leanne Kasburg, Jeremy (Sara) Richardson, Janelle (Ben) Strahsburg, Elizabeth (T.C. Dunnivan), Benjamin and Cassandra Waickman, Bryce, Nicholas (fiance Kate Chifolo), Jareth and Tiffani Kasburg, great grandchild Owen Kasburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Larry.
Private funeral services will be held Monday, February 8, 2021 at 1:00pm at St. John Lutheran Church, 550 E. Waterloo Rd., Akron OH 44301 and will be livestreamed at facebook.com/anthonyfuneralhomes. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Restland Cemetery in Brimfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
