Rosenthal, Fredalyn Daisy (Gerber) , "Fredi", 95, of Longmeadow, passed away Friday April 1st at the Jewish Geriatric Services, Lifecare in Longmeadow MA, peacefully in the presence of her children.
Fredi was predeceased by her parents, Dr Samuel and Esther Gerber, her brothers Irving Gerber and Wilfred "Bill" Gerber; and her husband Benjamin Rosenthal of Longmeadow formerly Boston. The love of each other's lives for 67 years. She is survived by her 3 children, Joyce and her husband Paul Contois of Springfield, Charlene and her husband Mark Cutler of Longmeadow, and David and his wife Elissa Rosenthal of Norfolk, MA, 5 grandchildren: Adam and wife Claudia Cutler of North Andover, Becky and husband Brian Munday of West Hartford, Seth Kaye of Chicopee, Cheryl Dusza of Springfield, Marlee Rosenthal of Jamaica Plain and 5 great grandchildren: Reese, Bailey, Mateo, Maya, Ethan, and 1 nephew Ronnie.
Born in Chelsea, MA, she worked at Sears Roebuck Co. as a customer service representative for catalogue sales, and later in retail at the former Paysavers. Fredi gave her time lovingly volunteering at numerous places including: the Springfield schools, Mercy Hospital, Jewish Geriatric Services, the Red Cross, the American Cancer Society, and the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer foundation. Ben and Fredi were long time members of Sinai Temple. At the Springfield JCC, she and Ben volunteered as computer coaches at the Senior Net, as well as being members of their Foxes and Belles.
