Fred "Pete" Weeks, Jr. was born January 2, 1936 in Diboll, TX to Fred Sr. and Clara (Scarborough) Weeks and went home with his Lord and Savior September 9, 2023.
Pete was raised in the Beulah Community in Diboll, TX. Mr. Weeks proudly served his country in the US Army from 1954-1956 spending time in Japan during his service.
Following his military service, Pete married Joy (Childers) in October 1956 settling in Diboll, TX and raising their family.
Mr. Weeks worked as an electrician at the Lufkin Paper Mill for many years before retiring in 1992 to raise his cattle and spend time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of Masonic Lodge #833 in Burke.
Mr. Weeks is survived by his son David Weeks (Sherri) of Hudson; Grandchildren: Dustin Weeks (Penni) of Diboll, Brandon Weeks (Alana) of Woodville, Maddie Rolando (Doug) of Houston, and Courtney Reeves (Tyler) of Fort Worth. Great-Grandchildren: Aiden Weeks, Hadley Rolando, Pete Weeks, Riley Rolando, Paul Weeks, and Nora Reeves. Sisters-in-law Diane Shewmaker of Canton and Dorothy Childers of Emory. Son-in-law John Harris (Sondra) of Fort Worth, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fred Sr. and Clara Weeks, his wife of 66 years Joy Weeks, daughter Jeanette Weeks Harris, sister Jerri Jones, and brother-in-law Max Jones.
Burial was at Garden of Memories Memorial Park in Lufkin.
