Fred Campbell Walker, age 85, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 23, 2022 at his home in Hampton. Fred was born in Griffin, Georgia to the late Fred Campbell Walker and Josephine Faulkner Walker on November 20, 1936. He is preceded in death by sisters, Nancy Walker Polk and Patricia Walker Cobb and precious granddaughter, Caroline Lynn Walker.
Fred graduated from Griffin High School in1954 and Georgia State College in 1968. Fred proudly served in the U.S. Army and National Guard. He was was a tank driver and once ran out of gas in the middle of a parade. He worked in engineering for Southern States and Mead Packaging and then owned several real estate companies, built homes and developed several properties before retiring to manage his farm in Zebulon for years. Fred said, "he loved life with the help of caffeine, nicotine and Jack Daniels". There is no one that Fred loved more than his family, including his wife of 60 years, Patricia Rivers Walker, his children, Todd and Sonya Walker, Traci Walker, Terry Walker and Erin Coleman. The loves of his life were his granddaughters, Katherine Walker, Elizabeth Walker, Emma Coleman, Skylar Walker and Aubrey Walker. He leaves behind a sister, Gayle Walker Milam, the Parker girls and lots of wonderful nieces and nephews and some of the greatest friends.
Visitation for Mr. Walker will be Saturday, May 28, 2022 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Liberty Hill Baptist Church. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 in the church cemetery. Mike Henderson and Darrell Johnson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, Fred would prefer that you vote conservative in the mid-term elections.
