Fred Charles Chandler, age 87, of Mableton passed away April 12, 2021. Fred was born December 21, 1933 in Muscadine, Alabama to Elizabeth Bell Clackum and Luther Thomas Chandler. He grew up in West Georgia near Tallapoosa in Haralson County. Fred served in the United States Army for ten years and the United States National Guard for five years. He retired from IBM in 1996 after working as a Field Engineer for almost 30 years. He loved spending time with his family. Fred never missed a ball game or any event his children participated in. He coached his daughter's softball team for many years. Fred was a God-loving man and a very proud daddy and papa and loved watching his kids and grandchildren work hard and excel in life. He loved spending time at their beach house in Panama City and hanging out by the pool at home. He was someone who could fix anything and was always working around the house and yard making his home comfortable and beautiful. He loved being outside. Fred adored his wife LeDoris. She was the light of his life, his compass, his North Star. He loved his family fiercely and would have done anything for any of them anytime. He was so very dearly loved and will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Chandler; parents, Luke and Bell Chandler; 5 siblings. Fred is survived by his wife of 63 years, LeDoris Pollard Chandler; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Michael Juliano; grandchildren, Jamie, Ashley, Hannah, Mark and Christian; sisters, Pat Lehman, Sue Mize, and Mary Thompson; brothers, LT Chandler and Donnie Chandler; great-grandchildren, Charlotte Quinlan, Isabelle Quinlan, and Henry Quinlan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, 12:00 PM, at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday 11:00 AM- 12:00 PM prior to the service.
