Franklin Donald Stalvey, 92, husband of the late Louise Charpia Stalvey died peacefully on Friday, December 9, 2022. Born to the late F.M. Stalvey, and the late Julia Isdora Martin Stalvey in Conway, South Carolina and lived in Charleston, South Carolina most of his life. He was a loving husband, son, brother and uncle.
Donald served in the United States Air Force. He retired after working many years with the Naval Ammunition Depot (Missile Base) in the Charleston area.
Donald enjoyed playing golf, riding his bike for miles, playing bingo, and being kind by always lending a hand to help others. He and his wife loved boating, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Donald was preceded in death by his parents, and his twin brother, Francis Ronald Stalvey, Sr.
Donald is survived by his brother-in-law, Harold Charpia and sister-in-law, Joan Charpia of Charleston. Also surviving him are many nieces and nephews that he loved.
A service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 7, 2023, in the chapel with a burial to follow at Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406.
A special "Thank You" with appreciation is given to each of Donald's caregivers: Margorita, Sherika, and Betty, along with all the team members of Memory Care and Lutheran Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
