Franklin W. Borzager , 80 Dec 21, 1940 - Feb 24, 2021 Mr. Franklin Welty "Frank" "Tyke" Borzager, 80, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Meritus Medical Center.Born December 21, 1940 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph J. Borzager Sr. and Gloria Welty Harman of Hagerstown.Mr. Borzager graduated from the Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the class of 1958.He served as a Sergeant in the United States Army Infantry from 1963 to 1965 stationed at Fort Carson, CO during the Vietnam era. He was also assigned to the Army Reserves in Chambersburg, PA after completing his regular tour of duty in Colorado.He and his wife of 54 years, Mrs. Sandra Lee "Sandy" (Chamberlin) Borzager were married on May 7, 1967 in the United Methodist Church of Waynesboro, PA.Mr. Borzager was employed by the Central Intelligence Agency for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1995. After retirement he was employed parttime by Raytheon Corp. in Chantilly, VA.Mr. Borzager was of the Methodist faith.He was a member of Elks Lodge BPOE #378, Morris Frock American Legion Post #42, AMVETS Post #10, and AARP, all of Hagerstown.Mr. Borzager and his wife moved back to the Hagerstown area in 2001 after living in Mclean, VA for 40 years. He was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and the Washington Nationals. He enjoyed listening to 50's and 60's music of which he had quite a record collection. He also will be missed by his furry friend, "Oscar" the cat.In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Cynthia Borzager Hinchen, of Orlando, FL, and his brother Raymond Harmon, also of Orlando, FL; nieces Michele Morris of Baltimore, MD and Cheryl Hinchen of North Carolina, nephew Marc Borzager of Germany, and sister-in-law Cindy Chamberlin of Waynesboro, PA. He is preceded in death by his brother Jack Borzager.Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Green Hill Cemetery, 953 S. Potomac St., Waynesboro, where military graveside honors will be conducted by the honor guard of Charles Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post #1599, Chambersburg.
