Frankie Lynn "Butch" Weaver, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully January 28th, 2015 at SouthPointe Healthcare and Rehabilitation in his 83rd year.
He was predeceased by his father and mother, Franklin Weaver and Ruby Warr Plummer; by his wife, Annette Rose Smith Weaver; son, Michael Robert Weaver; sisters, Harriette Weaver Chavis Miller and Linda Leigh Weaver Vaughn; and brother James Clifton Weaver.
Surviving are son, Randal Wayne Weaver (Alison Patrick) of Simpsonville, SC; daughters, Joni Marie Weaver Gillis (James MacNeil Gillis) of Kennesaw, GA and Wendy Anne Weaver Cantey (Mark Richards Cantey) of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, William Grady Weaver (Ashley Stephens Weaver), Bradley Michael Weaver (Jessica Benore Weaver), Brendan MacNeil Gillis, Emma Lenore Gillis, Michael Bryant Cantey, and Jackson Bryce Cantey; great grandchildren, Madison Jean Weaver and Charlotte Anne Weaver.
Survived by partner Georgia Davis.
Born in the textile mill village of Olympia, Butch was a proud "Lint-Head". A graduate of Olympia High School, he maintained his alumni relationships for a lifetime. Butch met his to-be wife as they worked at Ruff Hardware in Columbia. Their love and his career in hardware would continue for 58 years. In 1974, Butch became the sole proprietor of Contrac Inc, an architectural hardware company. As a proud University of South Carolina Gamecock, Butch enjoyed all athletic events, especially tailgating and watching his beloved USC Gamecock football. Butch and his wife Annette built and fostered a love for Gamecock Football that would become a Weaver Family tradition for over 50 years. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service for Butch will be held Friday, February 11th, 2022 at 11:00AM at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 2600 Wade Hampton Boulevard, SC 29615.
A Burial Service for Butch will be held Friday, February 11th, 2022 at 4:00PM, at Saint Matthews Lutheran Church, 1273 Calks Ferry Road, Lexington, SC 29072.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
