Frank H. Severa, 64 years old, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, with his family by his side. Frank was born on September 28, 1956 in Mishawaka to the late Frank and Doris (Hollenbaugh) Severa. On August 1, 1981 in Hobart, IN, he was united in marriage to Cheryl Richter. Frank was a 1980 graduate of Ball State University, and earned his Master of Education Degree from Valparaiso University. He was a lifelong teacher of Social Studies, Health, and Driver's Education. In addition, he was a dedicated coach for both football and baseball. He positively influenced the lives of many young people throughout his career.
Frank is survived by his wife Cheryl, daughter, Erin (Chris) Manering of Walkerton and son, Frank (Ashley) Severa of Rolling Prairie. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Ruby, Addison, Sylas, and Andrew. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Severa.
Frank was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, who had a deep love for his family. In addition, Frank was a caring, loyal friend, and a lover of dogs. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and enjoyed cooking, watching movies, and traveling. In his spare time, Frank enjoyed writing screenplays.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. (EST) on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at St. Bavo's Church, 511 W. 7th St. Mishawaka, IN 46544. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. (EST) on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Palmer Funeral Home - Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main St. Mishawaka, IN 46545.
