Frank William Gappa was called to the Lord on Friday November 5th, 2021. Frank was born on October 11th, 1931. He was the son of Michael and Alma Gappa. He was born in Minco, Oklahoma. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War and served on the USNS GEN. E. D. Patrick. He attended the University of Colorado and graduated from the School of Journalism. He started his career at the Greeley Daily Tribune and was the Managing Editor at the Boulder Daily Camera. He also worked at the Duluth Herald/Tribune, was publisher of the Centre Daily Times in State College PA, and the Amsterdam Recorder in Amsterdam NY. He made a career of his passion - newspapers. He married his wonderful wife of 62 years in Boulder, Colorado. Frank loved being with his family and friends. He always had a great time and never let anybody down. Frank was a genuine old fashion gentleman. He was a dedicated husband and father who taught his kids the importance of God and family. He loved to golf, watch baseball, dance, entertain and always looked forward to a bourbon and 7 in the evening.
He is survived by his loving wife Cathleen Stang Gappa, son Rob (Diana) Gappa and daughters Missy (Lee) Morin, Becky (Bill) Moir, and his sister Rosemary MacIntyre, and brother Mike Gappa both of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He has nine grandchildren and a great-granddaughter and great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Gappa and son in law, Lee Morin.
