Frank Burns DeMark passed away peacefully on November 10, 2022 at the age of 92. Born March 30, 1930 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Nina and Frank Senior. His mother passed away when Frank was 16. His father remarried, and the family moved to Idaho and bought 80+ acres of desert land near Caldwell. Frank and Vernon worked to remove sagebrush and make the land ready for the irrigating. The two brothers worked the farm and hunted in their free time.
Frank joined the Air Force in 1951 and served during the Korean War. He married Maxine Smith about that time. They were married a few years and had two daughters, Vicki and Jacki. He married Bev Crossland in 1962. The couple and her daughter, Valerie, moved to Salmon, Idaho where they lived for 20 years. They lived in Arizona before returning to Caldwell in 1990 where they resided until Bev passed away earlier this year.
Frank had a rich and varied working career and public service history. He farmed and ranched, worked in the automotive trade, owned an auto parts store and a Ford dealership. He was an active member of the Elks Lodge and Chamber of Commerce in Salmon. After moving to Caldwell, he managed the Armory rentals and served as president and board member of the Caldwell Irrigation Lateral District.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Nina, his brothers Charles and Vernon, and his wife Beverly. He is survived by his children, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and good friends.
Services in celebration of Frank's life will be held on Monday, December 12th at 11a.m. at the Oregon Trail Church of God in Caldwell. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Frank's honor, to the Elks Scholarship Fund, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette, Idaho 83661.
