Citrus Springs – It is with great sadness and heavy hearts to announce the passing of Francis Rolf "Frankoi" Torralba, 29, died unexpectedly on May 25, 2022 in Citrus Springs, FL.
He was born on October 18, 1992 in Tagbilaran, Philippines. In 2006, he moved to Citrus Springs from Illinois. Francis was a 2012 graduate of Lecanto High School International Baccalaureate program as Summa Cum Laude and Valedictorian. Francis also had received AP Scholar Award 2010, AP Scholars with honors 2011, Lecanto High School Top Honors English Award 2012, Golden Citrus Scholar Humanitarian Award 2012, The President's Volunteer Service Award 2012, The President's Award for Educational Excellence 2012, Interact Club Distinguished Service Citation 2012, The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Community Honoree 2012, and the Beverly Hills Lions Foundation Scholarship Award 2012. Many of these honors and awards recognize that Francis spent his extra time helping others.
Following high school, he enrolled in Rasmussen College where he received his ASN degree, then furthered his education receiving his BSN, RN and CCRN. Up until his death, he worked for the VA Hospital and Select Specialty Hospital in Gainesville, FL as a Registered Nurse and CCRN. He was also a member of the Florida Nursing Association and Francis had a passion for art, enjoyed computers and playing video games.
Growing up with feet planted firmly in two cultures (Filipino and American), Francis decided to do a project whereby he would collect old textbooks here in the States and ship them to schools abroad and to local organizations to bring educational materials to underprivileged children and teens. His dream then became a club called PAGE OF HOPE with over 20 other students contributing. This project was a success because of Francis as the founder. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends as they know he is with his Lord and Savior, and one day, they will be able to enjoy his company again in the celestial kingdom of Heaven. Until then, may his soul and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace.
Those left to cherish his memories are his parents, Elisa (Liza) and Floro Torralba, his dear Auntie Severlita Sarigumba, and many aunties and uncles, cousins and friends.
