Our Beloved mother, Frances Mitsue "Mitsie" Fujii Shimotsu, 90 passed away peacefully on September 21, 2022 at Liliha Healthcare Center. Traveling was Mom's passion. Destinations all over the world, she loved to take her children and grandchildren on many summer trips, from Disneyland to Disney World, and from Alaska to The Big Red Boat. She spent many years working for the Department of Education, teaching kindergarten, doing work as acting vice principal and finally retiring in 1989 after many years as Compensatory Educational Specialist II in the Windward District. Mom spent the last 6 years at the Plaza at Mililani after multiple mini-strokes & seizures in 2014. She did well and enjoyed her stay there. Thank you, Mililani staff, for all your help & care. She is survived by son Michael, daughters Janet (Brian) Matsumura and Laura (Earl) Watanabe, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are 3 brothers, Jerry, Marvin and Lane (June). Visitation 10:00am on Friday November 18, 2022 at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Celebration of Life at 11:00am. Inurnment 3:00pm on Friday November 18, 2022 at The National Memorial Cemetery Of The Pacific Punchbowl at 3:00pm. Aloha Attire.
