Frances Kirby Prather, 86, widow of William Allen "Billy" Prather, Sr., died Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at NHC Healthcare.
Born April 5, 1936, in Lincolnton, GA, she was a daughter of the late David Dudley Bryant and the late Ida Lee Martin Bryant. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and the Faith Sunday School class. She retired from Santee Print Works after more than 30 years of service. Her greatest joys in this life were selfless time spent with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her love for the Lord.
Survivors include three daughters, Marla Bilton, Cindy Jackson (Dwayne), and Lara Mims (Stephen) all of Sumter; seven grandchildren, Allen Prather (Melissa), Jimmy Jackson (Chelsea), Tim Bramlett (Casey), Nicole Hanzlik (Michael), Ryan Bilton (Lena), Campbell Mims, and Lee Mims; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jene Maloof of Myrtle Beach; several nieces and nephews; and a special sister-in-law, Cathy Bryant.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, William Allen "Lynn" Prather, Jr.; and two brothers, David Jackson Bryant and Lanny C. Bryant.
A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. Monday at Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Steve Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons along with Michael Hanzlik, and Alex Hanzlik.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 P.M. Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of Cindy and Dwayne Jackson, 700 Breezybay Lane.
