Kay was a healthy, spry 83 year young lady. She was amazing!
Born in Garden City, KS to Bus and Hazel Hale. The family moved when Kay was a young girl to Glenwood Springs, CO in 1940 then to Grand Junction, CO.
Kay Married John Lynch of Fruita on April 1, 1956, they divorced in 1975. Five children were added to this couple in the 19 years of marriage: Larry (Teri), Burns, CO, Louie (Linda) Valparaiso, NE, Teri (Brad) Uphoff Fruita, CO; Tami Fruita, CO. and Lonny Fruita, CO.
Kay attended Grand Junction High School, but was forever the biggest FMHS Wildcat fan, cheering on all her children in the sports endeavors! Kay was a softball player, skier, hiker, knitter, Bronco fan and a true Republican. She loved the USA and her Colorado Johns; John Denver and John Elway. Kay's life was all about her family, her sisters and most of all, her children. Next to that, travel was her passion. She traveled to all 50 states and many foreign countries. Her travel buddies were anyone who wanted to go. She could find the best cheapest deal out there. Kay loved her friends of new and old, but you better have a back pack and please do not check your bag!! Kay was very proud of her parade house and loved hosting the Fall Festival and Christmas.
Kay worked hard. Working for the US Postal Service for 25 years in Fruita, Grand Junction and Retiring as Postmaster of Ouray, CO in 1992. After retiring from USPS, she worked in the stores of Ouray and house sitting in the town for numerous friends there. Kay loved Ouray. Upon returning to Fruita she found a new career working for Avis Car Rental until her recent death.
Kay is survived by her 5 children, her 3 sisters, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and one on the way.
Kay is preceded in death by Grandparents Roy and Carrie Hall, parents Clovius "Bus" and Hazel Hale.
Memorial services will be held Monday, January 11 at 11:00 am at Clifton Christian Church 3241 F 1/4 Rd, Clifton CO. Contributions may be made in Kay's honor to HopeWest Hospice, 3090B N 12th St, Grand Junction, CO.
