Frances L. "Pat" Harner Fitzwater Suddarth born in Dickerson MD on Dec. 1, 1931 and died on Sept. 12, 2024 at Citizens Nursing Home, Frederick, MD and formally of Walkersville, MD.
She was the daughter of the deceased Charles Jacob and Dorothy Marie Harner.
Wife of the late Kenneth E. Fitzwater Sr. and deceased Sterling Suddarth.
Survived by five children, Kenneth E. Fitzwater, Jr., (Diana) Charles R. "Butch" Fitzwater (Linda), Faye E. Fitzwater (Bob), Sue Betson (Ronnie), Ann Whalen (Bill),
eight grandchildren, Wendy Brewer, Amy Miller, Michelle LeGrand, Keri Frank, Jennifer Betson, Brittany Jackson,
Brian Huff, and Timothy Huff, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Frances was a loving mother and devoted grandmother. She was a nurturing and compassionate person to all of her family, neighbors, and friends. Having a special love for small children, she spent 8 months in Kenya with the Doctors Without Boarders Program, attending to small children and babies. She had a love for nature, particularly for all types of flowers, and birds. Hummingbirds and finches were among her favorites. She had many gardens, thus allowing her to can fruits and vegetables during the summers.
Services will be Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation with the family beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The services will be held at the Boyds Presbyterian Church, 19901 White Grounds Rd., Boyds, MD 20841. Interment will be at the church cemetery immediately following the service.
